Band Camp Packets!!!!
(Vicki Feltman)
Band camp packets will be mailed NEXT WEDNESDAY. You should receive them Friday or Saturday (June 2nd). Watch for catalog size white envelopes with a return address label that says Homestead High Music Boosters Marching Band Forms & Band Camp Info.
Forms and payment are due to Vicki Feltman by July 10th!
SPEAKING OF Band Camp Packets….
(Vicki Feltman)
We will be assembling Band camp packets next Wednesday, May 30th, in the Band room, beginning at 6 pm, if you’d like to come join in the fun, and pick up the finished product once the envelope is stuffed. We save money if we don’t have to mail them out, and it’s always a fun time putting the packets together. Skill set needed – the ability to pick up pieces of paper and stuff them in a big envelope. Students are always welcome to help, too! This also means incoming freshmen students and parents. Come meet a few of your new family!
It shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours to get it all done with many hands making light work, so if you can help between 6 and 8 for any little bit, that would be great!
Please contact Vicki Feltman at Vicki.feltman@gmail.com for information.

NEED A GIFT FOR YOUR GRADUATING SENIOR? OR FATHER? OR BIRTHDAY?
(Vicki feltman)
Trying to find the perfect gift for a graduating Homestead Student or a graduating parent volunteer? How about a pillow made from a Homestead Marching Band jacket? Own a piece of Homestead history. Each pillow is unique and has its own one of a kind jacket number sewn inside.
The cost per pillow is $60. Every cent benefits the music program (the time and materials used to make these pillows has been donated by Jeanne Wong and Joan Gordon).
We also have a few water bottles available (the same ones sold for last year’s band camp), for $10 each.
Please contact Vicki Feltman at Vicki.feltman@gmail.comif you would like one.
Quantities are limited.
Don’t miss out!
AND MORE GIFT IDEAS….DVD’S FOR SALE INCLUDING THE BANQUET DVD!
(Vicki Feltman)
Here it is, your chance to relive the 2011-2012 school year…. Get your own copy of the Marching Season DVD, Winter Concerts, Spring Concerts, CMEA performances, and more! All proceeds benefit the Homestead Music Program. Orders are due June 6th.
You can find the order form on the booster website at www.hhs.fuhsd.org/forms.
JUST ADDED– You too can replay the DVD shown at the Music Department Banquet on Saturday! Seniors will get this FREE (if they submit their special order form to Vicki Feltman). Everyone else can buy it for $10 each. NOTE – this version of the DVD will NOT have Jon Wong’s New York spectacular, due to copyright restrictions.
LOCKER CHECK IN –
(Vicki Feltman)
Please make sure your padlocks are back on your lockers, because Mrs. Feltman will be removing all locks beginning Tuesday June 5th. Students will be charged $15 for missing padlocks.
All lockers will be emptied of contents the last day of school. Whatever is left in them will be thrown away or given away. Please make sure your lockers are EMPTY.
SENIORS – your locks and instruments must be turned in this Friday, May 25th.
REMINDERS:
colOR GUARD MANDATORY parent meeting is wednesDAY, MAY 23rd
(Vicki Feltman)
We will be holding our mandatory Parent Meeting next week, on Wednesday, May 23rd, 7:00-8:30 in the choir room (next to the band room @ HHS). Come meet the parent managers, the instructors, and hear all about our amazing program! Information on costs, calendars, equipment and volunteer needs will be discussed. There will be plenty of time to ask questions, so please bring those also!
Please contact Terri Goddard at goddardterri@hotmail.com, if you have any questions or need more information.
Mandatory Percussion Auditions may 22nd and 23rd
(Dave Sankus)
Everyone interested in being a part of the ensemble must attend the audition times, unless you work out an alternative plan with Lane Armey or Dave Sankus ahead of time. Only snare/quad auditions will take place on Tuesday, with the front ensemble, bass drum and cymbal auditions on Wednesday. At the conclusion of Wednesday, personnel decisions will be made and posted in the band room. All incoming freshmen need only to attend Wednesday’s audition, as freshmen are not eligible for snare/quad positions. Remember that the goal of the auditions is to find the best match for each player within the ensemble – not to be an intimidating process! Please contact Lane with any audition questions.
Tue, May 22, 4-7pm for Snares and Quads
Wed, May 23, 4-7pm for Basses, Cymbals and Front Ensemble
Auditions are mandatory, and if you cannot attend please contact Dave Sankus at 408-234-8640, songy@pacbell.net or Lane Armey at 617-966-6753, lanearney@gmail.comto work out other arrangements.
