Congratulations!

It was another banner weekend for the Homestead Music Department.
 
Drum Major Chris Chung was crowned Homecoming King.  Oboist Lyndsie Okumura was crowned Homecoming Queen.  Members of their court included Anh Nguyen, Danny Kim, and Joey Cox, all familiar faces around the band room. 
 
In competition, Marching Band and Colorguard performed another outstanding field show.  The following is a list of awards received at the Independence High Field Show Competition:

First place in Music, Visual, and Percussion for AAAAA Division

 4A/5A Sweepstakes – highest field show score over all bands in AAAA and AAAAA divisions!

 Awesome!!  Congratulations to all!

Parents, please contact Mr. Burn immediately at john_burn@fuhsd.org  if your student is missing any performance or practice.  These are all mandatory events that affect your student’s grade.
 
FREMONT WEDNESDAY NIGHT PRACTICE, 6-9 pm
 
Same schedule as always for pit, drummers, haulers, helpers.
 
SATURDAY PRACTICE AT HOMESTEAD, OCTOBER 24TH 8:30-4 PM
 
Full Marching Band means EVERYONE including percussion and colorguard.  Bring EQUIPMENT/INSTRUMENTS, LANYARDS WITH COORDINATE SHEETS, WATER BOTTLES FULL OF WATER, SUNSCREEN, AND HAT.  This means members of percussion PIT, too.

And thank you to Gabbi Crum, who has agreed to be our Concessions Coordinator, and John and Nanette Baltazar, who have agreed to be our Concessions BBQ Leads for next year.  We are off to a great start!
 
 
Measure G Get out the Vote Phone Bank
 
Measure G benefits Homestead and the other schools in the Fremont Unified High School District.  We are looking for parents AND students who can help us call voters on Monday, October 26th, from 6:15-8 pm to remind them to vote.  If you can dial a phone and read, then we are looking for you!  We will meet at the Coldwell Banker office across the street from Armadillo Willy’s, near Stevens Creek and De Anza Blvd.   Please contact Vicki Feltman at vfeltman@pacbell.net  by Wednesday Oct 21st  if you can help (we need to let them know how many people to expect).   Mr. Burn hopes to see you there!  Students, Mrs. Feltman will have her trunk full of goodies that she’ll break out when we are done with our phone calls!
