Bands of America prelims – 2nd place Class 3A
 
Out of the 31 bands from 4 states in competition, Homestead was one of 10 bands to go on to finals!
 
Bands of America finals – 6th place!

Parents, please contact Mr. Burn immediately at john_burn@fuhsd.org  if your student is missing any performance or practice.  These are all mandatory events that affect your student’s grade.

Field Show Clothing Order Accepted This Week Only
 
We are doing one more round of orders for field show shirts this week. If you would like to place an order, let Cathy Lu know via email (mail@cathylu.com) by Friday 11/6. Please send an order form with your check to 1468 Richardson Avenue, Los Altos, CA 94024. The form can be found at the music booster's website.

SCHEDULE FOR FRIDAY GAME, NOV 6TH – SENIOR RECOGNITION NIGHT
 
Wear your green band shirts to school!!
 
3:00 p.m.  Tuba players and percussion, load truck at Homestead
 
The band room will be open until 5:00 p.m. to allow you to pick up your instruments.  The band room will be locked at 5:00 pm with no further access until after the game.  If you do not pick up your instrument before then, you will need to explain to Mr. Burn why you aren’t prepared.
 
5:30 p.m. Full Band meets at Fremont HS in our "staging area" near the small gym.  In addition to your instrument, please bring your gloves, shoe bag with your pep shirt, CLEAN shoes and CLEAN BLACK socks.  Please remember to wear a shirt with short sleeves (NO TANK TOPS).   Also, remember to wear your boxer shorts.  The uniform carts with your hats and garment bags will be out and ready when you arrive.

Your hair cannot be so long that it touches your collar.  Bring hair nets, hair pins, hair ties, etc. to put your hair up.  If you do not bring the right materials to keep your hair up, Mrs. Edmonds and Mrs. Ishizaki have these items for sale for $2.
 
Get in uniform; uniform carts will be set up outside, where everyone will change.  Take care of any uniform issues before warm-ups!! Look for Mrs. Ishizaki and other uniform moms to help you.

6:00 p.m.  Warm up/Pep band music rehearsal

7:00 p.m. March into stadium -- Pre-game concert on the track

7:25 p.m. Traditional pre-game show

7:30 p.m. (approximately) - game begins.
Four minutes before half-time the band prepares for the half-time show.
Senior band and color guard members will be recognized.  Come applaud our seniors!
After the half-time show, you will go back to the uniform carts and change into pep band shirt and jeans. 
You must be back in the stands ready to play at the conclusion of the third quarter.
At the conclusion of the game, the band plays one or two more songs and is then dismissed. This will be sometime between 9pm and 10:30pm.
 
Volunteers Needed for Final Home Football Game—Friday, November 6th.

Thanks so much to everyone who has helped to make our football game concessions and half time shows such huge successes.  Our last home game for the season is this coming Friday and we still have a few more volunteer spots to fill.  Because the baked potatoes are so popular, we have decided to add another station so that the lines go quicker.  Please contact me, randersonwatkins@mac.com, if you can help out with any of the following:

If you want to attend, complete the attached pre-order form and turn it in
to Mrs. Feltman’s mail box by Wednesday, Nov. 4th.  Students  get $2 off the price of dinner for performing at Homeshow!
 
Home Show This Saturday 11/7. Help Needed!
 
Thanks to those who have offered to help with the Home Show this Saturday. We still need more cookies and baked goods for the reception, as well as people to make and serve drinks (4), help with clean up (3), and sell tickets (1). If you can help, please contact Cathy Lu at mail@cathylu.com.
 
 
LAST CHANCE TO PRE-ORDER FOR DINNER, WITH MUSIC!
 
Dinner will be served in the Small Gym at 5:30 pm.  The PRE-ORDER price is $12 per person, which gets you a delicious dinner of pasta, salad, dessert, and beverage.  
 
Student Homeshow performers or who will perform in the evening’s play will get  $2 off dinner!!
 
Entertainment will be provided by our fantastic Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Choir, and Chamber Orchestra! 
 
After dinner, proceed to the auditorium to watch “Wild Oats” by James McLure, a play presented by the Homestead Drama Department.  The show starts at 7:30 pm.  Tickets at the door are $5 with ASB Card, $7 general admission.
 
OR… purchase a dinner/play ticket for $17 giving you a great meal and entertainment before strolling over to the auditorium for the play.
 
Can’t stay for dinner?  No problem, we offer take out!  Why go home to cook and clean when you can have a warm meal ready when you hit the door?
 
Return the attached form with your check made payable to HHSMB.    Forms and payment can be left in Mrs. Feltman’s Mailbox located in Mr. Burn’s office
 
Pre-orders are due by Wednesday, November 4th.  We will have a very limited number of dinner tickets available at the door for $15 each, so pre-order is the way to go!
