Congratulations to Winter Guard!!
 
The Homestead Winter Guard placed first in Scholastic Open at the CCGC Winter Guard Competition held at Homestead on Saturday, January 23rd.
 
Way to go!!
 
Upcoming Exchange Concerts 
 
Triple the fun and music!!  This year, Homestead will participate in THREE nights of Exchange Concerts!
 
Wednesday, February 3rd, Fremont High will be our guest, performing with Mr. Marra’s Concert Band.  
 
Thursday, February 4th, Lynbrook High School will host both Homestead Symphonic Bands.
 
Monday, February 8th, Cal Berkeley will be our guest, performing with the Homestead Wind Ensemble.
 
Doors will open at 7 p.m.  Concerts start at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free at Homestead, however, donations are ALWAYS welcome, since they help pay for registration and applications to performance festivals during the year.   Admission to the concert at Lynbrook will be $5, to help defray dinner costs for the evening (all symphonic band students will be served dinner by the Lynbrook boosters).
 
Wanted – someone to haul the horse trailer to Lynbrook next Thursday
 
Homestead will bring its own percussion to Lynbrook (vibraphone, xylophone, 2 marimbas, concert bells).  With the possibility of rain next Thursday, we want to transport the mallet instruments in the horse trailer, unless someone has a better alternative.  Instruments will begin loading at 4 pm and the trailer should arrive at Lynbrook at around 4:30 pm.  If you can stay for the concert, great!  If not, we would appreciate it if the driver can meet us at Lynbrook to haul the trailer back to Homestead at 8:45 pm.  Please contact Vicki Feltman at vfeltman@pacbell.net if you can haul the horse trailer.
 
 
Lost and Found – Is moving
 
Beginning Monday, February 1st, anything non-musical that is left in the band room for more than a week, e.g., keys, glasses, purses, sweatshirts, backpacks, will be taken to the Lost and Found in the Admin building.  We don’t need the extra cobwebs growing on them, and washing all that clothing before giving it away gets old after awhile.  So, pick it up while you can.  If you snooze, you lose.

The band room will be open during the following days after school until 6 pm:
 
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Feb 1, 2, 5
Monday-Friday, Feb 9-13th
