Back to School Baked Potato Pre-Order for Parents

Parents, the Music Boosters will be selling our famous baked potato meals on Wednesday, September 15^th, from 4:30-6:15 pm, just before you head into class rooms for Back to School Night.

The meal will cost $7.00 and include a baked potato with all the toppings (choices include - butter, sour cream, green onions, cheese, bacon bits, chili), soda or coffee, and a cookie. 

Quantities will be limited, so you can take a chance that a yummy potato is available that evening, OR, you can pre-order to guarantee your dinner will be waiting for you.  Just complete the Back to School Potato form, attach a check made payable to HHSMB, and place in the box marked ‘Mrs. Feltman’s Mailbox’ located in Mr. Burn’s office.  Last day to pre-order is Monday, September 13^th.  I know this is short notice…but you have all day Friday, Saturday, and Monday to turn in your orders.  Just send them in with your students.

Feeder School Tour Coming up!

Every two or three years, Mr. Burn takes the marching band and color guard on the road to visit the middle schools and elementary schools which feed students into Homestead.  The students at these schools are excited to see their older siblings and friends, while our students are happy to show the younger set how fantastic the Homestead Marching Band and Color Guard are.

This is an all-day affair with many stops, setups, tear-downs, and performances.

We are in need of volunteers to help unload and load the truck at each stop.   Many hands really do make light work!  With such a tight schedule, we need as many people as we can to move equipment on and off the transport vehicles.  If you are available for all or part of the day, please contact Eileen Chun at hhsmbvolunteer@gmail.com . Please contact Vicki Feltman at vicki.feltman@gmail.com for more information.

Feeder School Tour Paper Work

The feeder school tour is considered a field trip, so all marching band and color guard members need to be excused from the classes they will miss on October 4^th.  STUDENTS, please print the attached form, have all your teachers sign it, then have your parents sign.  The completed form should be returned to the box marked ‘Mrs. Feltman’s Mail Box’  located in Mr. Burn’s office.  Due Date is Thursday, September 16^th.

Back-to-School-Night Potato Concessions—Music Boosters has been asked to run the Back-to-School Night Potato Dinner Concessions, and since we usually sell somewhere in the order of 200 potatoes, we will need volunteers for the following duties: Baking Potatoes, Set Up (which starts at 3:00 p.m.), Serving, Delivering (to the classrooms of faculty and staff who pre-order), and Clean up.  The sign up sheet is online at hhsmbvolunteer.comule.com (user:HHSMB,password:volunteer).

Saturday Practice Water - We are still in need of people to help prep and move igloos to the field. Sign up sheet is online.

We are in need of an insurance person -  Someone with a knowledge of/interest in insurance who can do some research and make some recommendations to the Boosters about what kind of insurance coverage we currently have (e.g., through the District) and what kind of additional coverage we might need.  In particular, insurance for our large trailer, things being transported in the trailer (uniforms, instruments), our golf carts, the smaller trailers, etc.  David Haight and I can provide more specifics, but this is the general kinds of things we want this person to look into for us.
