The band room will be open until 5:00 p.m. to allow you to pick up your instruments.  The band room will be locked at 5:15 pm with no further access until after the game.  If you do not pick up your instrument before then, you will need to explain to Mr. Burn at 5:30 pm, why you aren’t prepared.

5:30 p.m. Full Band meets at Cupertino HS in our "staging area" on basketball court, like the last game, near the swimming pool.  In addition to your instrument , please bring your gloves, shoebag with CLEAN shoes and CLEAN black socks.  Please remember to wear a shirt with short sleeves (NO TANK TOPS).   Also, remember to wear your boxer shorts.  The uniform carts with your hats and garment bags will be out and ready when you arrive.  Hair must be under control.  If your hair is long enough to touch your collar, be prepared to wear hair nets, hair pins, and hair ties.   If you do not bring the right materials to keep your hair up, Mrs. Edmonds and Mrs. Ishizaki have these items for sale for $3.

Get in uniform; uniform carts will be set up outside, where everyone will change.  Take care of any uniform issues before warm-ups!! Look for Mrs. Ishizaki and other uniform moms to help you.

  • You are dismissed after you put your uniform away.  You may buy BBQ food and take your time eating dinner.  Pre-order is the way to go!

Your uniform jacket needs to be on and zipped up during the first half of the game.

BEST FIRST UNIFORM CHECK EVER! FROM BARB EDMONDS

We check every uniform after a marching event to see that the band members are putting them away properly. This ensures the uniform will look wrinkle-free at the next event.  Our first event, Field Show Expo was last Saturday.  We had more perfect uniforms for a first event than ever before.  93 students put their uniform away beautifully and 18 of those were freshman or new to the band this year.  Those students will receive a prize in their hat box after halftime on Thurs.

We did notice a few fairly dirty/dusty uniforms.  Please remember:

 - Be sure that the uniform never touches the ground - especially while you are changing

 - Place the uniform on top of your garment bag if needed

 - Do not sit or kneel on the ground while in uniform.

If you would like know how to put your uniform away perfectly and earn that prize, please review the enclosed file "How to earn a duck".  If you have any questions while changing, do not hesitate to ask a uniform parent or section leader.

KUDOS TO GEORGE EDMONDS AND TIM BROWN!!

Next time you stop by the band room, be sure to look into Mr. Burn’s office to see and touch the beautiful piece of furniture George Edmonds slaved over for many weeks.  He and Tim Brown installed a custom made desk that will withstand anything Mr. Burn and Mr. Weingartner can throw at it.

Thank you, gentlemen, for a job well done!

THANK YOU PAT TOMOSADA!!

Pat Tomosada also donated to the remodel of the band office by supplying a beautiful round table and chairs to give Mr. Burn a place to hold meetings.  Thank you, Pat!!
