You do not need to register for every individual date you wish to work. Click on the Sign up link for the first date you want, in the comments section, list all the dates you wish to work. Connie LaScola will email you to let you know which dates you are assigned (she will start sending out confirmations starting with the beginning of Aug.)

REMINDER – MARCH-A-THON THIS SATURDAY
Homestead High School March-a-thon is being held Saturday, October 23 from 10 AM to 10 PM, starting at Homestead High School and culminating with the band's performance at the Gilroy Band Show. The day will include a total of 10 hours of time with the band on a field marching, playing their instruments, or both at the same time. Why? To raise money so we can better afford to attend major competitions including the 2010 Fall Season shows, the Pacific Basin Music Festival in Hawaii for Juniors and Seniors AND the 2011 Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in New York City!
Here are the details:
Student's Goal: Each student is encouraged to participate and raise a minimum of $60 to cover expenses for travel and competition fees. The target is to raise $12,000. Donations are made to the Homestead High School Music Boosters (HHSMB). HHSMB bylaws requires a percentage of the donation to go into the General Donations account to be used for HHSMB general operating purposes and the remaining funds will be shared and distributed evenly into the participatingstudents’ scrip accounts. HHSMB March-a-thon funds will be divided 33% General Donations and 67% to participating students. Participating means collecting $60 or more in donations by November 12th. Late donations are welcome, but late funds will only be deposited into the General Donations account. Some companies will match donations -http://homestead.schoolloop.com/mbfund#match and stock donations are welcome too.
Average Hours of Marching/Playing Instruments is 10 hours. Participating hours will be monitored. Students will receive a certificate at the end of the event to confirm actual hours of participation.

ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS ARE ON SALE NOW UNTIL SATURDAY PRACTICE ON NOVEMBER 13, 2010
Entertainment books are coupon books with great discounts to stores, restaurants, entertainment, etc. This year the Entertainment books are $30 (cash or check made out to HHSMB). If music boosters can sell over 500 books, our profit will be $15 per book with one half going into the general fund and the other half into your student's escrip account (our profit is only $12 if we sell between 100 - 499 books). I will be selling the books at the end of Wednesday and Saturday marching band practices at the band tree outside the band room - near the E-scrip table and at the football games in the stands with the band OR you can call OR e-mail me for purchase. You can also order other areas books (i.e. books for the Los Angeles area) online at www.entertainment.com/support click on "don't know account number" and enter Homestead High School Band in "name contains". If you want to encourage your student to raise some of their "own" money you can have some books to sell to your neighbors and family. If you have co-workers who made you buy cookies, popcorn, or wrapping paper, take some books to sell at work. Thanks for supporting our fundraising efforts. This particular fund raiser runs from the beginning of school until Saturday practice on November 13, 2010.
