HHSMB FUNDRAISING REMINDERS
If you need a tax deduction before the end of 2010 please consider making a contribution to Music Boosters. Donations, including donations of stock, are welcome any time. HHSMB is a 501(c)(3) organization so donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Donations can be earmarked for specific purposes such as Marching Band, Choir, Orchestra, Guard, Percussion, Scholarships, etc. If you have questions please contact Mr. Burn or the HHSMB Treasurer, David Haight, dhaight885@aol.com
Be sure to maximize your donations by applying for corporate matching funds. David can complete the forms required to receive matching funds if your company offers such a program. I forgot to mention that we accept stocks too
We are also accepting donations for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade trip to New York City. For more details please see our link: http://homestead.schoolloop.com/mbmacys

PARENT HELP NEEDED DURING CONCERTS AND SNACK BREAK 7 PM TO 7:45 PM
Please contact volunteer coordinator Eileen Chun at hhsmbvolunteer@gmail.com or go to the volunteer website to sign up for the following needs:
Door monitor during concerts – simple duty… you sit in the auditorium and get up to open the doors when everyone claps, to let people in from the lobby. The doors are locked to keep people from opening the doors while the show is recorded.
Prep snack area in band quad – we are serving chips, water, and welch’s juice drinks. Everything is supplied; just pour juice into cups, set up bags of chips and stand back.
Help serve snacks – monitor quantities, pour juice until all gone.
Clean up after snacks – move leftovers into band room

COUNTY HONOR BAND APPLICATIONS
The Santa Clara County Honor Band is comprised of the most advanced band students from over 20 high schools in our county. Homestead has a long reputation of being very well represented in this band and students are encouraged to participate. The audition date is Friday, December 10th. Interested students should see Mr. Burn and Mr. Marra for audition details and application form.
PLEASE LET 8TH GRADERS KNOW ABOUT A SPECIAL MEETING ON MONDAY, DEC 13TH
Mr. Burn would like to meet with all current 8th grade students and their parents on Monday, December 13th, at 7 pm in the Homestead music building, to discuss what is involved in being part of the Homestead Marching Band and/or Color Guard (who twirl flags, rifles, and sabers). With Macy’s looming, he wants to make sure students and parents make an informed decision regarding band and/or color guard. Note – color guard is open to any incoming 8th grade student or current Homestead Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior. No musical experience necessary!
Contact Mr. Burn at John_Burn@fuhsd.org or Vicki Feltman at Vicki.feltman@gmail.comfor more information.
