MARK YOUR CALENDARS - FREMONT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT MARCHING BAND EXPOSITION SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1ST
(Vicki Feltman)
The FUHSD Marching Band Exposition is an annual event showcasing the talents of all five district high schools in a non-competitive venue. Each band performs their field show to a paying audience, beginning at 7 pm, October 1st, under the lights in the brand new Homestead Stadium! The special guest marching band this year is from Santa Teresa High School.
Admission is $5 per person, with all proceeds split evenly 5-ways amongst the district high school music departments (Cupertino, Fremont, Homestead, Lynbrook, and Monta Vista). Since this show benefits all the schools, even volunteers pay the entry fee.
This year, Homestead will provide the concessions for the event and keeps all proceeds from those sales. We will be offering the same yummy food we normally do at football games.
We will need a full complement of volunteers for the day. Not only will we need concession workers, pit equipment movers, help with uniforms and equipment, but we’ll need help with traffic control and serving our students dinner before the show.
Watch for more details in the volunteer web page as the date gets closer.
SCRIP NEWS
(Nicolle Sidovar)

COMPETITION MEALS FOR PARENTS

If you're planning on joining us at competitions, we are offering parent meal plans at all of the competitions. These are the same meals we are serving the Marching Band/Colorguard. For parents who are planning on volunteering at these events, it's the way to go! There will be 3 away competitions and one FUHSD Expo.
The deadline to pre-order parents’ meals is Friday, Sept. 23rd. The cost for four meals is $24, and there’s a vegetarian option. The form can be downloaded from http://www.hhs.fuhsd.org/mbmain under Forms and dropped off in Vicki Feltman’s Box in the Band Room.

REMINDERS:
CONCESSION WORKER FAMILY PASS AVAILABLE!!
(Vicki Feltman)
Just a reminder to all Music Booster volunteers; everyone must pay to get into the football games, volunteering or not. Once again, Assistant Principal Tara Grande and the Athletic Boosters are offering Music Booster volunteers a chance to buy a special season pass to allow volunteers entry to the games at a discounted rate. You must be a volunteer at Concession, BBQ, Bleachers, etc., at some time during the game. In other words, this is not available to families who only come to watch the game (or come just to watch the BAND).
The cost of the pass is $45.00. It will admit 2 adults and school age children younger than high school age into all Homestead “Home” football games as long as the cardholder is volunteering during the game. The regular admission price to a home football game is $6 per adult per game and there are 5 home games in the season.
Another option is to buy an Athletics Family Pass for $70, which will allow 2 adults and their children into all Homestead “Home” sports activities, so, if you have students in band who also compete in cross country or swim team or volleyball, the Athletics Family Pass might be your best bet.
Please contact Vicki Feltman at Vicki.feltman@gmail.com or Barb Edmonds at edmondsbarb@yahoo.com to purchase a Concession Work Family Pass. Contact the ASB office to purchase a Sports pass.
