Congratulations to all Homestead students for a fantastic marching season. Now that it’s over, it’s time for the parent volunteers to celebrate! Sorry, kids aren’t invited to this one.

COUNTY HONOR BAND APPLICATIONS

The Santa Clara County Honor Band is comprised of the most advanced band students from over 20 high schools in our county. Homestead has a long reputation of being very well represented in this band and students are encouraged to participate. The audition date isFriday, December 9th. Interested students should see Mr. Burn and Mr. Marra for audition details and application form.

Yearbook photos taken just before the Home Show have been delivered to Mr. Burn. See him to get your photo orders.
There will be a photo makeup session on Monday, December 5th. Anyone who didn’t get a chance to take their individual pictures and buddy pictures before the Home Show should come to the band room at 7:45 AM on Monday, December 5th to get into your uniforms. You also have the option to order group photos during the Monday photo session if you didn’t get a chance before. Contact Vicki Feltman at Vicki.feltman@gmail.com to request a photo order form.

Regular scrip is also available. Your student, including seniors, continues to receive scrip credit year-round. PERFORMANCE DVDS

Carl Gutekunst has videotaped all of Homestead’s performances. They can be found athttp://www.youtube.com/user/carlsgutekunst.
Additionally, DVDs of all performances can be pre-ordered by emailing Carl atcsg@alameth.org. Historically, these DVDs are distributed at the Spring Concerts in May.
The 2010 DVDs are at the duplicator right now and are expected to be ready soon.

VOLUNTEER FOR SANTA CLARA VANGUARD BINGO TO EARN MONEY TOWARD BAND FEES

Santa Clara Vanguard has opened their bingo volunteering calendar for November, December and January. This is a great way to "bank" money in your scrip account to pay for band expenses.
For each shift you volunteer, you will earn $40 toward your student’s scrip account. Money in your scrip account can be used toward paying any allowable Homestead Music program costs (Marching Band, Winter Percussion, Winter Guard, Choir, etc). Volunteers must be 18 yrs or older. They do not need to be a parent or relative of the student. They can be a friend working on behalf of the student.
