Concerts and Festivals
Participation in Concerts and festivals is essential. Students must let Dr. Morton know if they are missing an event ahead of time, preferably in the online choir commitment form. An absence must be excused in advanced or at the discretion of Dr. Morton in the event of an unforeseen emergency or illness. If excused, then the student may do the make up assignment to have the 0 replaced by an E in their grade. The grade will then be averaged without those points in it.
Make-up for concert or festival: By yourself, record all of what you would have sung at the event. You may omit any long periods of silence. Save the recording(s) in compressed form (preferably MP3). If multiple files, then either 1) zip them together in compressed folder and put it in the drop box for the missing assignment, or alternatively, 2) put the first recording in the drop box and email subsequent ones to Dr. Morton. (Or, get them to him any way you can.)

Master Calendar
Advanced Choir Master Calendar Spring 2013
Tutorials on Fridays, 1/18, 1/25, and 2/1.
After School on Monday, 2/4, 3:15-4:45
2/6 (Wednesday) – “Major Work” Concert (Advanced Choirs combined w/Orchestra), students: 5:10 call , doors open at 7:00, concert starts at 7:30 pm.
3/7(Thurs) – Exchange with Cupertino MS. 5th period only. During class time, and staying into 7th for those who can.
3/8 (Fri) – San Jose State University Choral Festival. 4:30 leave from school by bus, warm-up in hall, then dinner in San Jose. Festival starts at 7:30, parents welcome. Parents pick-up at 9:45pm at SJSU.
3/21 (Thurs) – Napa Choral Festival. 12:15 depart, 9:45pm return. Concert and Treble choirs. Bus transportation.
4/17-21 (Weds-Sun of Spring break) NYC festival and tour.
5/11 (Sat) – CMEA Choir Festival. This event will be at least a half-day and will be held at the McAfee Auditorium at Saratoga High School. Students must provide their own ride.
5/15th (Weds) –Spring Choir Concert at HHS. Students show up at 5:45pm, concert begins at 7:30.

I am now going to use School Loop the the primary depository for practice audio files and class materials. Please find these in the locker just to the right of this box.
I am now using homesteadchoir.net primarily to archive recordings from past years.
Jazz Choir Calendar
3/20/13 (Wednesday) 2:30-5pm. After school workshop and concert with Audio Convergence.
4/5 (Friday) Crab Feed- afternoon and through dinner, including Dinner. We need to carpool to DeAnza from school.
4/17-4/21 NYC - also plan a rehearsal before we leave...
5/16 (TH) – Spring Jazz Concert at HHS.
