Screenagers Showing Wed. Mar. 15 6:45 pm

IS YOUR STUDENT ADDICTED TO VIDEO GAMES…SOCIAL MEDIA…THE INTERNET? Please join Homestead High School & the PTSA in a special showing of SCREENAGERS – Growing Up In The Digital Age, a documentary exploring the impact of mobile devices on teens’ lives. Screenagers probes the impacts smartphones and other mobile devices are having on teenagers and their social, emotional and psychological lives and offers parents and teens practical solutions that can work.

Did you know – recent studies show:

  • The average teen spends 6.5 hours per day looking at screens, and that doesn’t include classroom or homework screen time.
  • Screen time increases dopamine production and causes behavior that mimics addiction.

Our kids are growing up in the digital age surrounded by screens, which begs the question – how much screen time is healthy? How can we empower our children to best navigate the digital world? Join us as we explore these questions and understand the struggle and emerging solutions to best empower ourselves and our children in navigating this digital world.
